Nutmeg
Nutmeg is our first pony purchase, before we even had the keys to our Boring house and property. Her sire is a dark dappled bay registered Morgan, and her dam is half Shetland, half Welsh. She is an intelligent and playful pony, though motherhood seems to have given her a calmer attitude towards life, and other ponies. She still wants to know everything that is happening but no longer needs to be boss. It was in the search for a stallion for her that we discovered the Fell pony. Her first foal was Cassie, by a Welsh stud we owned for a short term. She has had two fillies by the Fell stallion Hadrian; a black called Poppy, and a bay called Tamarind. Nutmeg has great movement, a perfect personality and good confirmation but I do believe she has produced better than herself in each foal. Nutmeg and Cassie attended a show together on 2 August 2008, a first time for both. Pictured at left is Nutmeg in a lead line class with our son Jonathan riding bareback, also his first show. Nutmeg has been started under saddle and over jumps by Lily of Equis Hights Farm. She is in Medford to be bred to a homozygous paint stallion for a colored foal in 2011.
