Braeberry Silverton
MidnightValley Thistle's first foal came early on 29 May 2007. She's had a grey colt with a small star, probably only a few dozen white hairs. This is her first foal and I was a bit concerned about how she would handle it but natural instincts in animals are great and she's being very motherly but not overly protective. The colt is easily handled by anyone who comes in the pasture and I hope to keep it that way with him. This colt has been named Braeberry Silverton both for his future color and for a town near us with some great waterfalls. I think he would work as a future therapy pony, he has the personality. Our son is learning how to act around a young foal and is doing very well, and helping with training too! On day 8, Jonathan went up to Silverton in the pasture, scratched his neck and shoulder, then proceeded to lift each foot at a time going around all four without the foal moving his location. I hadn't done that yet! This mare and foal are going to be an excellent team for Jonathan to learn around. He has claimed this foal as his favorite, not only becuase of it's friendliness, but also because it will go white and he seems to prefer white ponies. Silverton is with us in Seal Rock, Oregon. He will be gelded, when ready and prepared for a ridden pony. I hope to take him through some competitive trail courses before the year is out. To view his pedigree, click the link above. | ||
